oh yes, a rare night indeed in elkins, west virginia,
and one that frank himself held very dear and near.
he spoke of it often.

i spent one last delightful evening with him in the fall of 2003.
we sang together at the wonderful goilin club in dublin and
afterward sat up in his cozy cottage by the liffey until 4am,
sharing songs and good craic, sipping and savoring the afore mentioned concoction he favored...
i'd brought along a little gift of 'napoleon' brandy.
after a very few hours sleep he came into the kitchen,
happy to find me putting the kettle on.
he then commenced into fixing us a full irish fry.

last time we spoke was april, 2005.
he encouraged me to do all i could to enjoy every minute of life.
this was a man who knew what he was talking (and singing) about.
