I had a Newfoundlander for a housemate for a while. When he wasn't employed, he did the housework in lieu of rent. He kept the kitchen cleaner than a surgery. When I surprised a burglar one night, he chased him out, walloping him with a leather jacket. Not many people could do that. I don't know if Newfoundlanders are hosers. But they're all right.
