Thread Name: Lyr Req: Squaws along the Yukon
Subject: Lyrics Req: Squaws Along The Yukon
Probably not a politically correct song, but in true folk tradition this was sung by a late friend in Oz who learned it from the Berringer family in Billings Montana. I believe that Ted is an accomplished guitar/mandolin maker

I know the tune but not the words, and would appreciate some history. Suspect it was current in WWII.

Chorus goes something like..."Uma luma looshka, which means that I love you, If you'll be my baby I'll uma luma looshka you..." As you can see this is a song of rare artistic merit, and deserving of wider circulation.
