Whatever the outcome tomorrow - it is clear that the rest of the series will be tightly contested. And if only England can get someone other than Flintoff, Pietersen and to a lesser extent Trescothick and Strauss - to stay at the crease and get some runs - England should even win.

Simon Jones at least stayed around long enough with Flintoff and it was only this parnership that gave Australia any sort of target to chase. It would only be honest to say that the rest have not really justified their selection as batsmen. With just a few more second innings runs - this game would have been over.

Despite this - there does seem to be a fighting team spirit and everyone seems to know what to do in the field - so perhaps the team should be left as it is? Not that there appears to be too many altenatives....
