I'm scouting how to achieve my Christmas dream: like Embo, I want a recording studio of my own--but it seems easier to achieve: all I have to do is sell a few of my surplus instruments, etc., and go into minidisk recording. A poster to HarpTalk described his system, which--coupled with his computer--is capable of producing excellent quality multi track recordings: his hardware? A mini-mini disk recorder with a stereo mike, his computer, and a CD-R or RW drive...which is supernumary, since it's possible to record back from your computer onto the mini-mini disk recorder. His investment, not counting the CD drive and the computer: about $350.Now I gotta get off my butt and take pictures of my dispensible instruments and put 'em in the auction.
I've been pretty self-indulgent in the past few years so there's not much I'm lacking that I might ask for (except a winning lottery ticket).
