Erie Canal Monongahela Sal Jon Campbell's plethora of songs about Rhode Island Lee Murdock's plethora of songs (collected and original)about the Great Lakes region. Lou and Peter Berryman's plethora of songs about Wisconsin. Nearly all songs about logging. Does Canada count in the discussion, or are we limiting ourselves to the US? Canada would give the southern US serious competition, songwise.
