This is a poem I wrote in a tribute to the late, great, John Kilby Snow.
Ok, Here goes everything!
"The Autoharp Man" (For Kiby Snow)
You first learned to play on a second-hand harp, A 5-chord Zimmerman, plain and small; Though tragedies and hard times have plagued your way, You've overcome them all.
You were a lefty player, but it only added to your unique style. (believe me!) With your special "drag notes" you created sounds never before thought possible on the harp; Considering you taught yourself to pick it upside down, you were born with above average smarts.
Even though you've passed and gone, I assure you, your music still lives on. Though many harpists have tried so hard, To imitate your technique; They may come close, but still so far, For yours was the original, unique.
