A favorite early Barbara Bel Geddes movie is I Remember Mama with Irene Dunn. Such a great story and premise, and was a good start for a serious young actress.

There was such an odd flip-flop with that Dallas program. Bel Geddes left (due to her health, I think), was replaced by Donna Reed, and then Reed was (apparently without notice) given the boot and Bel Geddes returned. Both were excellent addresses, and it didn't speak well for the producers of the program to handle it that way.
