So, I get on the train in Skagway, on the White Pass and Yukon RR, ya know? And I'm ridin' the train when we pass this little ol' squatty shed with the US flag and the Maple Leaf flag in front of it. On the front it says "RCMP." Turns our we had gone into Canada. That li'l ol' shed was where the Mounties had their HQ during the the days of the Chilkoot Trail, back when all the US people were tryin' to bring Civilization to Canada and all they asked for was a little gold in return. And the Mounties set up a Maxim gun!!

Anyway, we go to Fraser, BC and then a bus takes us to Whitehorse, YT. Ya ever been in Whitehorse? For that matter, when was the last time you were in the Yukon?

Everybody was wearing parkas and mukluks and Sorels. We stayed a "Chez Igloo" and the taxi had six dogs. The money was funny, honey, but the toilets were pretty much like real toilets, only they worked better. Everyone seemed to like US cartoons though, 'cuz they all talked about "loonie" and "toonie."

That was were I learned to recognize a Canada goose. A Canada goose goes "Honk, eh?" Or the goosee goes "EEEEEEEEEK! eh?"

Then we went back to Fraser and then back to Skagway on the WP&YRR. It sure was good to see the palm trees and sunshine again after the blizzards and pack ice of Canada! And it happened right there at that little ol' shack, too.
