Subject: RE: Tech: Transferring 45's to CD
I had a lot of old lps so bought a stand alone cd recorder, made by Sony and available for just over $200. I put several hundred lps on cd and am very happy with the results. I was careless about marking tracks so sometimes there is a little inconvenience there. Among my records was one by Leonard Warren, an LP called Rolling Down to Rio. It was mostly Kipling; Gunga Din, Danny Deever, Road to Mandalay, etc. Wonderful. These dated to the early 50s into the 70s and though I spent a lot of time on it, it was so well worth it. I also have been able to replace a few that had disappeared over the years by going to ebay.
I had a lot of 45s but decided I was never going to do anything with them so donated them to a local charity shop--just a few months before I bought the recorder.
