It's about time Walt Koken came over here. He used to knock me out fiddling with the Highwoods String Band (still does!), and his solo banjo CDs have to be heard to be believed - a totally unmistakeable style. Now back on the fiddle in the Orpheus Supertones, he's doing a superb job. Banjo player Pete Peterson is a Mudcat regular with interesting stuff to say about Old Time music and banjo styles. One of the few players left with many different ways of playing the banjo. Nick, I'm going to have to come to your neck of the woods to see them.
Looks like Alan Jabbour and Ken Perlman are going to be reasonably close to me. I'd love to get to a workshop - I did one with Alan at Glen Lyn, Virginia - what a great fiddle teacher.
Cheers
Ray
