Amos, apart from my own obsevations, I do have comments made on the Annexe to go by (I've a fairly good record of when some people find problems there, not written by me) in terms of MC reliability and the record has not been as you say (although mostly better than the time of the bad disk).

Monday 22nd was so bad I was reading comments from others like:

It's down!
It's up!
It's down!

I'm getting seasick!

It's less like a Mudcat... and more like a toilet seat at a mixed party...

These comments were made by various people most of whom one would not consider critics of Mudcat.

All that said, I wonder whether the extreme failures we witnessed on Monday were perhaps in part symptoms of re-boots while another configuration was set up.

It has been my observation, this time supported by lack of comments from others that matters have improved since then so perhaps another effort was made. Tuesday was good and today so far has been good.
