I think setting up some formal thing like gg suggests wouldn't be good for the Mudcat.

Perhaps the Cat could be tweaked so that people could adjust the default to suit themselves, so that if they only come here once a week they could set it up for seven days instead of one. (And then take seven days reading all the threads...)

I thing the thing is that it takes a long time to learn all the ins and outs of the Mudcat (in fact I doubt if many people ever do), so my suggestion was a reminder to newcomers of something they might have missed.

Or would it be possible to have things set up so that only time when the Cat was up and running counted? So you wouldn't have threads vanish while noone is able to read them.
