The "Lullabies" section of _Rise Up Singing_ includes many good candidates. (Skip over "Abide with Me" & "Goodnight Irene" -- whoever classified the songs in _RUS_ sometimes failed to read them all the way thru.)

The first lullaby I heard was "Rozhenkes mit Mandeln"; my mother studied it in the hospital while waiting for me.
