Also in the Oak Press book "The Folksinger's Wordbook" by the Silbers. It has the B-O-B-E-D, and is identical except the man's name is G-r-o-w-n.
Karl and Harty also sang it.

Anyone have the "Salvation Army Songbook"? Worth a look there.

Obviously something from the temperance days, but no idea as to author or date.
