Thread Name: Sing-along songs wanted
Subject: RE: Sing-a-long songs wanted
BTW, Lynda, there is a section of Mudcat that has basic music scores along with lyrics, and we also have a MIDI section.

Are you folks looking for well-known songs like This Land Is Your Land, Me & Bobby McGee, The Water Is Wide, or are you more interested in newer and/or lesser-known songs that have choruses or fairly simple, repetitive parts for groups to get into quickly? Do you want only "folk" songs, or are you also interested in country songs (Your Cheatin' Heart, etc.), pop songs (Singin' In The Rain, Proud Mary, Margaritaville), show tunes & movie songs (Over The Rainbow, Oh What A Beautiful Morning!), etc.?

Type "sing-along" or "sing-a-long"* into the forum search, and you'll probably find a bunch of threads with many suggestions.

Once I have a clearer idea what sorts of songs you're looking for, boy, do I have a list for you!!

*FWIW, (PEDANT ALERT!!!)
Bill Gates and his lackeys may have the most widely used spell-checker around, but they MISspelled "sing-along" in their MS Word spell checker.   It's based on the words "sing" and "along," not on the words "sing," "a," and "long."   It can be spelled correctly without the hyphen (singalong) or with one hyphen ("sing-along") but not with 2 hyphens ("sing-a-long"). :-)
