Oh, Alice. As I watched the picture download on my slow dial-up connection, it gave the sense of the camera scanning mile after mile of devestation. That brought home to me the scale of the disaster (We don't have TV so all my information has been printed, internet or radio.) Knowing intellectually what is happening is one thing--the emotional understanding from the visual information is quite another.
