Don't feel badly--trap the bastards and get rid of them. They carry diseases and I can guarantee that nobody is putting Revolution on them to control parasites. You don't want to expose your cats to anything they might bring in, and you don't want to tangle with an angry mama raccoon yourself. We get them in our attic all the time and always call somebody to come get them out (they can be very destructive to your house, too).
