I gather Condoleeza Rice was in New York last week, buying a pair of Ferragamos. When a woman in the store took her to task for buying expensive shoes when a so much to the south was devastated, Ms. Rice had the lady thrown out of the store.
Now, I am a shoe junky. Hollowfox's offspring called me Imelda Marcos. But a person has to have her priorities straight.
But I'm glad Poppagator is safe, and I wish everyone else down there was. They're collecting water to be sent to the hurricane victims next Saturday, and I'll be down with as much as I can manage to afford and carry.
Ms. Rice probably can't carry as much as I can. But I'll bet she can afford more. It would be nice if she sent a couple of hundred cases.
