Wilfrieds links give some very pretty pictures, indicating the use of major lifting equipment would be necessary for a big pole. The picture of the children seems to be a much smaller one, probably made for the occasion and on what looks like a simple cross piece stand. It's probably similar to the one he mentions for sale onEbay. The link for Ebay gives a few hits, none of which are for proper maypoles for dancing round, only the use of Maypole as a business, a product name or a picture of various maypoles. The one here from the school that he referred to was sold on 15th July.
