When I write songs, there are times when I feel that I am writing the soundtrack for a movie that is in the listener's head. Forget the kid who "sees dead people." I see songs.

Yeah, I hear your music, Bob. The instruments never compete with the songs, and that's the way that I like it. That's especially important to me when I sing gospel. If you can't hear every word, then the message is lost, and there's no sense in singing it.
