Yesterday was real busy at the park where I patrol, but by 7:30, everyone was gone. I sat in my patrol car on the banks of the Delaware and watched the sun go down and then sat in the dark and listened to the crickets and other night critters for about an hour. There was no traffic out on the main road, just the sounds of nature. It was beautiful. Summer is basically over abd the Delaware Valley is all mine for a while. I'd forgotten how nice this place can be when the tourists are not around.

Today I pack, and tomorrow I'm headed up to Mass. and Maine, which I hope the tourists have abandoned, too.

There's no real point to this thread. I just wanted to say how nice it is to have peace and quiet for a change.
