          Speaking of rides My favorite memory of my mother's mother is the day she entered the Merrit Parkway THE WRONG WAY . My brother and I were 6 and 10 so it was 1956 . Thankfully there were less people on the parkway back then but we both got on the floor of the back seat of her 52 Pontiac screaming "Grandma your going the Wrong way ". She never noticed a thing : Being a Boston blue stocking and deaf as a doorknob she beleived she owned the road ,knew where she was going and thankfully didnt hear what the other cars were tonking or yelling . For some reason my mom didnt let us drive with her much after that.
