No, dear reader, we don't need trained dancers, so if that was a kindly offer, thankyou! . We used to do (and even teach, perish the thought!) maypole dancing, hence the interest in borrowing a maypole. The wedding is in early May and my friend loves folk dancing and uses maypoles as symbols on badges, decorations, etc.
