A friend of mine who used to sing on a Manchester radio show in the sixties recounts a horribly embarrassing moment when Feliciano guested on the programme. Following a stunning performance from Jose, my friend felt compelled to say a few words of congratulation to the visiting star and began by asking how he was enjoying the current tour. Jose explained that he liked touring except for the fact that, because of the quarantine regulations, he couldn't bring his dog with him. Having been already introduced to an "elderly" looking Mrs. Feliciano, my pal commiserated and added "..still, it's nice that your mother's with you" To which Mr.Feliciano replied, "Hey Man! That's my WIFE!!"
