I don't think it was just over a game of cricket.   Quite a bit of it was Londoners being bomb-happy. Or rather, refusing to be bomb unhappy.

Remember, the tube/bus bombings of 7/7 came the day after the big celebrations for London getting the Olympics. I think part of today was "As we were saying before we were so rudely interrupted..."
