Lead Belly played various models over the years to judge from the pictures I've seen. The last one, which the Lomaxes helped him get, seems to have been the fanciest. It had herringbone purfling and a gorgeous tailpiece. Check with Neal Harpe(stella.com), or talk to Bruce Taylor up in New England. Taylor got to measure and examine the instrument closely.
