To be awkward and in view of the thread title, I was never a big fan of the beatles and don't even know the other work of George Harrison let alone decide whether I like him or not.I suppose as guitarists go, I have admiration for John Willaims and Julian Bream more than the rock stars and once got to play in a pub with somebody called Richard Durrant who I belive that had either stood in for or replaced John Williams in Sky. He was amazing - worst thing about it was he wasn't playing guitar, he was using my banjo and at least 10 years later, I still don't know how to do what he did with it.
Folk wise, probably my favourite guitarist is Chris Newman who also plays jazz and was once a member of Boys of the Lough although musicman put me onto a recording of David Sinclair and that was amazing. If I hadn't been told, I would have sworn that there were 3 guitars going at one point.
