If you can get it fixed under guarantee, good, but I wonder if paying for a repair is worth it on a computer over two years old.

I have been having serious problems with web access for months, sometimes it would and sometimes it wouldn't, I changed virus killers and downloaded trojan killers, formatted twice, etc, changed wall phone sockets, and in the end I upgraded with a new motherboard and chip and some other bits. No change, and I was thinking it was one of those hard-drive viruses(Virii?) that can't be removed, so maybe I need a new one to replace this nearly new one.....
My neighbour was having trouble too, but he didn't tell me because I don't speak Cantonese, and he had a new cable put in from the street. I asked the sparky to look at my connection, and, problem solved. The phone Co swore there was no problem, the liars.

The guts of this rambling is, what I paid for my components was 3/4 of the price of a new computer from the same supplier, and the new one has WinXP and an LC screen. And XP alone is half the price of the components I bought, and the screen is nearly as much.

The next time, I'm going to fill it with concrete and sell it for a mooring.

Mind you, to switch to XP would mean that my software wouldn't work.
