Thread Name: Producing a CD
Subject: Producing a CD
Greetings!
For the past four months I disappeared off the face of the Earth. Well, that's not actually true. What I have really been doing is producing my own CD, my fisrt full recorded album after forty years of performing. Yes, it's about time! The CD title is Now the Wheel Has Turned, which is also the name of the first of eighteen songs.
The recording and mixing are all done. Now I am waiting for the sound engineer, Ray Korona of Hobo Star Music in Jersey City, NJ, to finish the mastering. Then I send the master off to Oasis CD Manufacturing in Sperryville, VA. The artwork will be by Mike Shotton, a graphic artist who Oasis recommended. If all goes according to plan, Now the Wheel Has Turned should be released early in December. You can be sure that I'll keep all you good Mudcatters up to date.
Oh, of the eighteen songs, ten, including the title track, are my own creations. Five are traditional folk songs, one is by Woody Guthrie and Pete Seeger (66 Highway Blues), one is by Jesse Fuller (San Francisco Bay Blues), and one is by Blind Lemon Jefferson (See That My Grave Is Kept Clean).
