As I am in shared accommodation, floor space is highly limited. I will let you know in a while, as I have to ask my roomie for permission.
A few other options:

I think hostels are the cheap option, esp. as they are mainly in the city centre. If you have to rely on buses, you might find yourself in trouble, as public transport is notoriously unreliable here.

Ways of getting to Cork:

By air: Cork Airport is served by many airlines. Check out Aer Lingus, they have some good offers. EasyJet, Ryanair and BMIbaby all fly to Ireland.

By rail: coming from other parts of Ireland, rail may be an option. The train from Dublin to Cork takes about 3 1/2 hours, and a weekend return costs about 52 euros. There are buses to.

By ferry: Cork is about 3 hours from the Rosslare ferry. Coming straight from the continent, there is a ferry from France to Ringaskiddy, about 20 minutes from Cork.

By bus: Eurolines serve Cork too. 12 euros for a return ticket from Belfast at the moment. I cannot get a price for London-Cork yet, as the system seems to be stuck.

That's all for now, more info will follow gradually.
