Hmmmmm....It never occurred to me that the problem could be ISP related.

SRS---do you think the firewall could begin to cause problems after an automatic update? I have not myself made an changes in settings or values. I could certainly try to uninstall and reinstall Symantec-but it makes me a little nervous. I tried to do that with an earlier version after a worm or virus disabled it. (Norton quarantined the worm, but the worm in turn knocked out Norton.) And ran into all kinds of problems trying to uninstall it. I fear I have the "feces" touch with technology--(or maybe simply a "phobic" touch.)
