I've been following the story of the two SAS men captured by Iraqi police with interest. It stinks of cover -up. First reports suggested that the car contained explosives...this was missing from later reports.
From the beginning, British authorities were desperate to get the two men away from the Iraqis and this culminated in the attack on the police station where the men were being held.
The official story given to the media, was that the men had been handed over to insurgents by Iraqi police and the British were forced to take action to protect them. This story was denied by a spokesman for the Iraqi Govt, who said the two men had never left the prison compound. The fact that the men were recovered unharmed seems to bear out this version of events.
I believe the article which Don has linked may very well have some truth in it.....Desperate situations require desperate measures, and things dont get much more desperate than the situation we have created in Iraq.
We must get the troops out now, force Bush Blair and their respective administrations to resign, then set criminal proceedings in motion.
