People on all sides go down in airplanes in a war, and all of their friends and family miss them, regardless of what side they were on. The North Vietnamese pilots who went down were ALSO serving their country and their way of life, and their country was being bombed by the World's mightiest air force. They faced even greater odds than your wingman. They made the same personal sacrifice. That is worth remembering.
