What I'm suggesting is that if Bush, et al, leaves the battle to the Iraqis and hies himself to the borders in the name of securing them in order to help the Iraqis' struggle, it may help Bush in his effort to extricate himself.

If he did that and it worked, I'd be in favor of it. I'm no military expert but it seems likely to me that there will be - probably already is - civil war in Iraq and our presence there is not helping matters. Removing ourselves from the war we started is the least we can do.

Incidentally, when I ssaid "since the Iraqi army is doing so well", I was putting words in Bush's mouths. From everything I read I certainly do not think they are doing well in any sense of the word.
