Subject: RE: BS: Hip hugger jeans & fashion casualties
another fashion problem - when the shops are full of styles I won't wear & colours I wouldn't be seen dead in. Apart from the beautiful floaty skirts.

up on the soapbox -

Yesterday I was on the hunt for a few longer sleeved shirts (tee or Indian style) in plain darker colours. I don't like or wear pale pink, pale green, light (or even dark) brown, apricot, white, cream, & the other colours filling the shops. I found one top in a dark mauve which I liked, but the boat neckline was so wide & out of shape there was no way I could look at myself in it, so why subject others to the sight?

Nor do I like most prints (& have you seen the way THEY are mixing totally unrelated prints!!!), & I won't wear sleeveless tops, either - if I didn't wear them in my 20s or 30s or 40s why would I want to wear them in my 50s? Why are the 'Plus' sizes ranges full of sleeveless tops?

One thing I have no trouble with is trousers/jeans - I don't wear them either.

and another thing - where are the cool materials for Sydney's humid summer - crappy polyesters & other artificial materials abound.

good thing I have about 20 silk shirts to go with my existing cotton & new (polyester & rayon) skirts.
