I was rather taken aback by your remark that size 12 women should not wear hip hugger jeans - until, that is, I realised that you write from the USA where everything, they say, is bigger!!

I'm a size 12 and have recently bought myself a size larger jacket (it IS very fitted) in what in the UK is called a size 14. I looked inside and it is labelled US size 10. So am I a size 8?
