Every dog has his day. Mr Bush has had his. Karl Rove has had his. We've got roughly 2 more years of misery and distress to go through (theoretically) as this US administration staggers drunkenly to its inevitable end, and history's judgement.

But what a shame that so many innocent people had to die so they could have their day.

And what other group of $1,000-suited scoundrels will ascend to the Oval Office when they are done? "We wonders, yes, we wonders," (to quote Gollum). It's a lot like watching the succession in the USSR Politburo used to be...will they be even worse next time...or marginally better than last time...or the same as usual? And who can do anything about it when the ruling system itself is morally and philosophically bankrupt?
