I'm going to be visiting and staying near to Warrington (Croft actually but that's rather small) during the week of 22nd to 29th October and would appreciate some suggestions of places to go. Singarounds would suit me best especially those which are fairly catholic in their tastes (ie a completely unaccompanied traditional evening I might find a bit much - I tend to prefer a mix)

Having a look on the web there seems to be something within reach for most nights of the week - eg the Wigan folk club looks good on Tuesday/Thursday; the one at Heatley,Lymm also does; and the Runcorn Monday night also does.

Wigan's about 12miles and Runcorn is about 15miles and that's about the travelling distance I would prefer - though I'd go a little further if something is that recommended.

Any recommendations and some indication of what the places are like would be much appreciated - something friendly and welcoming would be much more attractive than cold and cliquey (does cold and cliquey exist? - of course, not..!)
