Just a a point of information, there was quite a substantial feeling against the going to war against Germany--and remember, Isolationists have had quite a long history in the Grand Old Party(though Republicans, and even Conservative Republicans, often are not Isolationists)--Even "W" talked like an isolationist in the beginning--In retrospect, we were wrong to encourage him to move away from that position;-)
