On the doormat a Christmas card, first of the year
It's come from New York in the U S of A
I've never been there, it's too far away.

There's a feline motif, it's come from a cat
But who could it be? Can you tell me that
Is it really a Yankee from over the sea
Posting so early to little old me

Or has this card been put in the mail
By a sneaky accomplice who hopes that I'll fail
To deduce who my Santa is, where they reside
Left of the Atlantic or t'other side
