Now the forecast track shows it bouncing off the Yucatan and heading northeast toward the west coast of peninsular Florida (Tampa, St. Petersburg, Port Charlotte) instead of the northern Gulf coast. If that track holds it will probably make for a stronger storm at landfall since the waters up here in the northern Gulf have already started to cool a bit, but they're still quite warm down Tampa way.
