I heard this song when I was growing up. My father who was a early country music pioneer in Va where I live used to sing it. The song has such a beautiful melody, and I always loved it. It made me appreciate that color of one's skin is not important...their quality of character is. I never forgot it. I am now 67 years old, so it has been with me a long time. Though the song contains words some might now find offensive..I still consider it(along with Georgiann Moon)two of the most beautiful songs I have ever heard.
