G'day Frank,

I don't think players of the humble folk concertina constitute a big enough market to warrant tooling up for a video on the basic squeezebox ... resort to the technology of the concertina's day - a book.

I can heartily recommend the Mel Bay Concertina Tutor. It's been around since the 1950s, to judge by the photos of its author (Frank Converse ... ?), presents both button number/direction playing code and real music notation ... has music from the simplest up to a (re-written for concertina) Mozart Concerto - and taught my wife, Patricia, enough basics for her to be able to ask me what all those extra things were that I did ... and to raise her aspirations to the point where she snaffled my top-grade Lachenal 22-key model and left me to buy a somewhat lesser G/C 22-key box for a lot more money!

Most of the expensive teaching material for Anglo concertina is aimed at those who want to play 30- to 44-key Anglo-chromatics in modern Irish stage virtuoso styles ... and don't relate to folk styles.

Regards,

Bo
