I remember that record. My dad had it. The song you're referring to is "The Ballad of Sam Hall". I think the words are in the DT. I found Paul's website http://www.paulevans.com . Looks like he did a lot more pop than folk, but the album you're referrin to is "Folk Songs of Many Lands". I loved his version of "The Golden Vanity".
