Subject: RE: 2005 Getaway Reflections Here...
My question is this: How is it possible to fall in love with 200 people at once?!!!
Ebbie and I got home a couple of hours ago, still laughing and reflecting on the weekend, as we will be for a long, long time.

It was such a joy to meet so many new mudcatters and reconnect with those I'd met before. Each day was filled with unexpected, delightful "gifts" in the form of music and camaraderie!

As you say, Jimmyt, it's impossible to explain the experience of the weekend to someone who wasn't there. And I do know what you mean jimmy, about being aware of the moment as it's happening. I kept thinking I should pinch myself to be sure I wasn't dreaming. We were really singing with all of those wonderful people from so many other places, acting and feeling like we'd known one another forever. The power of music!

Charley Noble, your description of your ride home sounds just like Ebbie's and mine with Carly. In fact at one point, we talked about the fact that at that very moment there were happy campers traveling in all directions, having conversations similar to ours, at once filled and awed by the Getaway experience.

Thanks again, to all who worked so hard to organize this wonderful event.

Momnopp, no, we don't always post in threes - only when we're at Kinko's. Kinda messes with our spelling, too!

Bobert, even though you fired me, I'm still an adoring fan. And you don't even have to pay me, neither!

I've had Janie's gospel song in my head all day. Have you all heard that girl sing gospel? WOW!

Kendall and Jacqui, 600 miles!!!! Wow!! I don't know how you managed that! Kendall, hope you get to feelin' better soon!

Yeah, Ebbie is a special one. I'd be happy to deliver hugs for all of you anytime.

More later ~ love to all ~
