Thread Name: Anyone using cakewalk?
Subject: RE: Anyone using cakewalk?
That's true, Eric: I should have clarified which Cakewalk product I'm talking about. Cakewalk Pyro is software specifically for burning CDs from already recorded sources... other CDs, tapes or records. It is not their home studio... which looks great, but far beyond what I am looking for. I started another thread which no one responded to that stated my purpose.. burning CDs on a computer from tapes. I am currently using Easy CD Creator, which is decent, but has very little control over eq and volume. Cakewalk makes the Cakewalk Pyro software which does the same thing, but appears to have much more control over the editing... eq, noise control and volume.
I have many songs which I recorded of my quartet that were done with a mike for each voacl and one for guitar, that I can mix down to two tracks. I want to make the best CD from those tracks, and just need something to clean up, equalize and balance the volume of the individual tracks in order to burn them to a CD.

Cakewalk Pyro costs $39.95. It doesn't have any of the bells and whistles that I don't want... drum machines, complicated imset capabilities... It's not a "home studio," It functions only to produce a good quality CD from other sources that are already recorded and mixed.

It sounds like an upgrade over Easy CD Creator, and I think I'm going to give it a try.

Sure wish I knew someone who had used this particular software..

Thanks for responding..
