Thread Name: New book/CD: celebration of Jack Thorp
Subject: New book/CD: celebration of Jack Thorp
Today is the day that Mark and I are doing a book signing at the Tattered Cover at Highlands Ranch, at 7:30. We will be performing selected songs and signing our new book on Jack Thorp and the cowboy songs he collected in the 1880's and 1890's. We have done a good bit of research and have found info on Thorp that was unexpected. We are also offering arrangements to the songs that are getting right close to what he heard out on the prairie.
More info and directions can be found at the Tattered Cover web site:

The track list and mp3 files as well as a description of the book are now available at CD baby:

The book is available through the Museum of New Mexico Press:

Also Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other sites on the web. If you do a websearch on "Jack Thorp's Songs of the Cowboys" you'll see that it's getting around. 'Course you can get them from me directly.
If you are in the Denver area, I hope you'll come by. It's sort of rare that we get to perform here.
