We carve up a punkin, light it up, and place it in on top of the front steps. We live in a small town in Maine and there are still herds of kids trick or treating in the early evening. We offer them an assortment of healthy and less than healthy treats.

One year we embedded a mini-speaker in the punkin and startled a few ghosts.

Some folks in town go whole hog with their displays, lighting up the front of their house and filling up their front yard with accessories.
