We had a great time, too. Took my grandson to just 2-3 neighbours whom we know and trust. Didn't take him much time to figure out it was a *treat* to go knock on doors and receive some really nice treats; a glow in the dark ghost with pumpkin necklace for safety in the dark, several rubber duckies of different designs which squeak and a few bits of candy.

Earlier in the day, he and I had a blast blowing up orange and black balloons and taping them to the tops of the pickets of our fence which lines the driveway. It looked pretty kewla nd none of the older kids popped any, later on, so that was nice. We also had some paper ghosts etc. taped to our windows. My daughter and I cut out two pumpkins which looked really good sitting on the front steps.

We had a fair amount of people come by. All of the littler ones had adults with them, which I was glad to see and the older kids were polite and fun to see.

I love Hallowe'en, not just for the tick or treating, but also because it is a sacred time in which to give thanks for the bounty of the seasons and honour the "Quiet Time" of gestation of all the new things the Earth (and/or ourselves in creative ways, etc.) will bring forth in the Spring, as well as honour those who've gone before us. It is a reminder of the Cycles of Life.

Spaw, that is truly terrible. That woman must've really been in a bad state.
